Mountaineering.
Andy Ravenhill, Alba’s director has walked,
climbed and worked in the Highlands of Scotland since 1988. He is well qualified
and holds the highest national qualifications in mountaineering instruction the
Mountaineering Instructors Certificate (M.I.C.) and is a member of the
Association of Mountaineering Instructors (A.M.I.)
He has extensive experience of mountains all
over the world as well as at home. This includes numerous trips to the European
Alps as well
as trips to the greater ranges of Asia and

Mountaineering are all well qualified professionals. You can be sure that they
will be both experienced and qualified for the job in hand but will also be
considerate and helpful. A strong emphasis is placed on enjoyment as well as
training where appropriate to boost your confidence
when out on the mountains, holidays or technical
courses, summer or winter.
Throughout the year Alba covers the full
range of Mountain activities. Winter brings more instructional courses for
walkers, mountaineers and climbers. In the summer we have walking holidays up
and down the West Coast of Scotland as well as scrambling and rock climbing
Individual attention. The programme for the week involves five full days on the
mountains. The week starts with a get-together on Saturday evening for a
programme outline and equipment check. We will do our best to adjust our
programme to your suit needs.
